Isometric Exercises Strengthen Your Core Muscles

Our bodies have three muscle groups that help hold our bodies upright. Those muscles are abdominal, pelvic, and back muscles. These muscles make up the core of your body. They are responsible for our balance. If any of these muscles become weak, our balance and movement are not stable.

Many of us hurt our back because we do not keep the muscles strong and healthy. Many of also don't warm the muscles up before we lift. With the proper isometric exercise, we can strengthen our core muscles to ward off back pain and other muscle pain.

Isometric exercises are a form of strength training exercises and are very effective at strengthening our core muscles. We can do these exercises anywhere, such as when we are sitting at our desks. We simply have to grab hold of our seat and lift our legs while holding our stomach muscles tight. The exercise will strengthen our back as well as help hold our stomach flat.

What is so great about this form of exercises? It actually increases the strength of our muscles, increases our bone density and helps us lose weight. This exercise can be done by anyone no matter their age. We do not need special equipment to do this exercise. A wall, floor, chair, car seat or any other firm stationary object will do the trick.

Many of us do not even know we are doing them. Anytime you use weights or a stationary object for resistance you are doing isometric exercises. This form of exercise strengthens our muscles to help prevent injury and will help us heal quicker once we are injured.
